Preschool Ministry

playhouse-small.pngWe welcome you and your child to the Preschool Ministry of Calvary in Savannah. Our ministry focuses on all children from birth – 4 years old. We are here to partner with you in nurturing your child. Our committment is to provide a safe environment where your child will be cared for physically and spiritually. It is our goal to share the love of Christ with your child each and every week.

What to Bring
When packing a diaper bag for your child,
please include the following items:
•two or three disposable diapers (no cloth diapers, please)
•a bottle of milk, formula, juice or water
•pacifiers, favorite blanket or toy
•a complete change of clothes

Please label all personal items before arriving at your child’s class.
This helps us keep track of your child’s belongings.

Your Child’s Health
We operate a well-baby program. For the protection of all the children in our ministry we cannot accept a child with a runny nose, persistent cough, fever, rash, diarrhea or any other signs of illness. We request that you not place your child in the nursery while they are at risk of exposing other children. Thank you in advance for helping us keep our “Playhouse” a healthy place for all.

Drop-Off Procedures
When you arrive, a volunteer will greet you to receive your child and all their belongings. Please fill out the check-in sheet and note any vital information that will help in caring for your child such as feeding times, nap time, allergies, and/or special needs.
Your child will be given a name tag with a security number. If you are needed during the service, your child’s security number will flash in the worship center.
After you have completed the check-in procedures, simply wave or kiss your child good-bye and leave for the worship service. As you know, it is normal for little ones to cry when leaving a parent. This does not last long, and separation becomes easier over time. Our leaders will immediately try to create interest in a toy or activity and give assurance that you will return soon. If your child cries for an extended period of time, we will flash their number in the worship center.

Snacks
Snacks are provided for the children once they graduate to the Crawler room. The snacks consist of apple juice and butter cookies, Cheerios, and Goldfish for 3-4 year olds. Please alert the volunteers if your child has any food allergies.

Classes
Preschool Classes
Curriculum
We believe that even our littlest ones can learn! Regular learning experiences are planned and lessons are reinforced with songs, Bible stories, play, and crafts. Our 1, 2, 3, and 4 year old classes will visit the playground, weather permitting, on a weekly basis. Please send a jacket or sweater with your child during cooler weather.
Our 3 and 4 year old classes will visit “Hallelujah Hall”, our puppet ministry, once a month.

Checking on your Child
Please feel free to check on your little one at any time during the worship service. However, we ask that you do so discreetly, trying not to let your child see you.

Pick-Up Procedures
Please make sure that all of your child’s belongings have been returned to you before you leave. Be sure to present your child’s security number and return their name tag to the designated box.

Volunteers Opportunities
Volunteers are needed every Sunday morning, and we need all parents to volunteer if at all possible. Please call the church office for information.
