Children’s Music
Calvary’s Children’s Music Ministry (CMM) is focused on the spiritual development of children age 4 through 5th grade by having fun while praising the Lord through music and the arts. Children memorize songs, play instruments, participate in musicals, and use sign language to further their interest in music. The CMM is offered only from September-December. They sing during Calvary worship services and other special events.
Currently there are three children’s choirs at Calvary.
4 & 5 year olds
Children ages 4 and 5 have fun with games and instruments while also learning to have fun with music. The teacher involves and engages the children in many different musical activities while sharing the love of Christ. This choir is focused on learning, not performing, but will perform along with the older choirs in special events.
1st and 2nd Grade Choir
First and second graders learn music fundamentals through games and other fun activities. They lead out in worship for Sunday services and will participate in other special events held just for them!
3rd – 5th Grade Choir
Children in this choir learn about becoming better singers, and musicians through the use of instruments and harmony! This choir will perform several times throughout the season in church and will also participate in special programs such as musicals, concerts, and variety shows.
Children’s Ensemble
This small vocal ensemble is an auditioned group of children from the 3rd – 5th grade choir. The ensemble will learn challenging music and rehearse and perform on a regular basis all year.
